Recommendations For Eliminating Sweaty Armpits

Some of your friends and family might suggest some handy remedies to avoid armpit sweating. But the fact remains that a temporary solution is not good enough to solve your problem completely. It always makes sense to find a permanent solution. It is advisable to consult your doctor before undergoing any of the treatments mentioned either in this article or may be recommended by a close friend of yours. A doctor is ultimately a specialist in this field and surely knows and suggests the best iontophoresismachine.

So, here are few of the treatments available in order to address your problem of armpit sweating. The first and the foremost method is called the iontophoresis. It is a surgical method and involves the use of a special machine. What doctors do is that they stuff your armpits with water moist sponge pads. If not water, you can also use a solution of glycopromium bromide to moisten the pad. These pads are then connected to a special machine which supplies electric current. However, through this method, you can minimize sweating only for a limited duration of time like say a few days or maximum a few weeks. This is not a permanent solution. It is currently possible to use this machine through a dermatology or physiotherapy departments but later people will also be able to buy and use the machine themselves at home.

Another such method is called botulinum toxin. It involves injecting your body with a very powerful sweat gland disabling solution. But you need not panic since only small quantities are required to stop your armpit sweating and hence do not really affect the body otherwise. Again this is not a permanent solution and requires repeat procedure every 6-10 months. Each session requires you to take around 12 tiny injections. There are very few cases where this method has adversely affected the patient. Though it’s a new treatment, 9 out of 10 people have shown positive results and are happy with the treatment. The normal/ average duration of time required for this treatment is around 35-45 minutes. You also need to be aware about the fact that these injections do case you some amount of pain but this pain is tolerable and hence there is no need to panic for the same. It is also observed that this method also helps avoid armpit odor.

The last available method is called as sympathectomy. This works by snubbing off some nerves that lie within the chest under the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rib on either side. It is also possible to disable these nerves through an electric current. However, this surgery requires some rest before you get back to your normal routine for example; you need at least 1-2 weeks to begin doing a sedentary job. If however, you wish to join a manual work, you need to wait for at least 2-3 weeks. Doctors have noted the success rate of this method as 80%.
